TRAINING

Kress Associates provides training to contractors, wholesale distributors, engineers and architects for all our products, and for the systems in which they are utilized. We have a broad range of knowledge and experience upon which to draw, as well as the many resources of our manufacturers. We can customize training for you to be as basic or detailed as needed.

We try to schedule training classes every month, generally on Thursdays.  Classes are either half or full-day classes depending on the topics, and we even provide lunch.

We also schedule Fridays for Electro Industries web training, and our customers are free to use our facility every Friday for those seminars.

Electro Technical Helps - Live Web Training Seminars

     Electro Industries provides web based training every Friday on various topics related to their electric equipment. Anyone can attend the seminars online, but if you don't have high speed internet available, you can use our training room. Check our training schedule for scheduled web seminars, or check the Electro Industries web site for scheduled training at www.electromn.com/schedule.htm. tekmar Control Systems - Product Overview

     A complete discussion of tekmar products and HVAC control strategies. tekmar makes high quality controls for today’s HVAC systems.

     This class will cover basic concepts of Outdoor Reset, Variable Speed Injection & Mixing, and PID Control Theory, and how tekmar utilizes them to control simple or complex HVAC systems. These systems include zoning, domestic hot water, snowmelt, and multiple boiler staging and rotation.

     All tekmar products will be covered, including the new digital & programmable thermostats, setpoint controls, pump sequencer, boiler reset controls, steam controls, mixing controls, zone controls, and snowmelt controls.

    The morning portion of the class takes at least 3 full hours and covers concepts and all products. The afternoon portion involves hands-on control wiring and programming and takes 2 to 3 hours.

tekmar tN4 Control Systems

     A general product introduction of the new tekmar tN4 line of communicating thermostats and controls.

     This class will cover basic concepts of Outdoor Reset, Variable Speed Injection & Mixing, and PID Control Theory, and how tekmar utilizes them to control simple or complex HVAC systems. These systems include zoning, domestic hot water, snowmelt, and multiple boiler staging and rotation.

    The class is at least 4 full hours and covers concepts and all products.

Modern Hydronics Seminar

     “The old rules don’t always apply anymore…” What’s changed in the last 40 years? Plenty, and if you don’t understand those changes, you could be in for some big problems!

     This seminar will cover new fundamentals in hot water heating, including:

• Near Boiler Piping
• Primary/Secondary Pumping
• Boiler Controls
• Zone Control Strategies
• Radiant Floor Heating
• Alternative Heat Sources

     This will be an informal, non-technical approach to hydronic heating systems. This material is no more complicated than forced air heating.

     This class has a cost.  If we come to you, we charge $500.00 for the entire class.  If you come to us, we charge $50.00 per person.  We recommend you charge your customers a minimum of $25.00 per person to cover your costs of any food, class room rental, and the course fee. Please keep the class attendance size to a maximum of 25 people since classes greater than 25 students are difficult to manage. (10 to 12 attendees is an optimum number.) The class runs about 4 hours, so please tell the attendees to plan on 4 full hours or more if meals are included.

     We provide a projector for the Powerpoint presentation, and a white board / flip chart combination for impromptu illustrations. Handouts of all the Powerpoint slides will also be provided to all attendees. The customer should provide a large screen or white wall to project upon, and any additional flip charts, white boards or chalkboards that are available. We also recommend you provide pens and notepads, and any other goodies imprinted with your company or product name(s).
